An HOA is a private government stapled to a deed. Architecture committees. Approved palettes. Fines that stack while you are at work. A hearing because a kid drew on a driveway that the family already paid for.
The grass still needs cutting. The lights still need bulbs. Snow still falls on pavement nobody owns. That work is real. The rest is a hobby with lien authority.
HOMO — the Home Owners Management Organization — does not sell a friendlier HOA. We publish one short standard, we mail a chapter packet, and we help a neighborhood take the association off the deed where the law allows. If it does not allow it yet, the chapter runs the shared work until it does.
Where it started
Two HOA notices, one Tuesday.
2024. A Midwestern subdivision. $75 for a trash can left at the curb eleven hours after pickup. $150 for chalk on a private driveway. Paint colors already on the Thursday agenda.
Six households met in a garage and wrote a management compact instead of another set of HOA bylaws. Other streets asked for the pages. That is the whole origin story. The name is short. It does not sound like the management company that sold your builder the association packet.

2. Vote the HOA off
Where the covenants and the state allow a vote, the chapter runs the vote. We do not tear up a deed in the parking lot. We write the dissolution motion so the street is not abandoned the week the board dies.
3. Outlast the association
Some recordings take years. A HOMO chapter can still collect for snow and lights under a voluntary compact while the official HOA withers from empty chairs.

What is an alternative to an HOA?

Do we pay you?
